Reissues amended Chapters 3 through 11 of the Thai Constitution, plus a provisional Chapter. Chapter 3 addresses the rights and freedoms of the Thai People, including: the equality of men and women (Art. 24); political rights (Art. 26); the right of private property (Art. 38); and freedom of expression (Art. 39). These rights shall not be restricted except in the interest of "keeping peace and order and good morals." Chapter 4 outlines the duties of Thai citizens. Chapters 5 through 11 relate to the structure of the Government and the rights and duties of the King. Art. 179 allows the King to impose and lift martial law in the event of an emergency.
