| Abstract/Citation: | The purpose of the Act is to prevent ethnic discrimination (discrimination based on race, colour, national or ethnic origin or religious belief). The Government shall appoint an ombudsman to prevent ethnic discrimination in employment and other areas of society. A Board against ethnic discrimination comprised of 3 members shall also be appointed; the functions of the Board shall include advising the ombudsman in matters of application of this Act. Also provisions in respect to procedure, agreements that are null and void, compensation for damages and the judicial procedure in discrimination disputes. |
