Comprised of 8 Parts, 80 sections and 4 Schedules. Part 1 provides for citation and commencement. Part 2 concerns the objectives of the Act. Part 3 regulates the award system. Part 4 deals with minimum entitlements of employees including minimum wages, equal remuneration for work of equal value, termination of employment, parental leave and leave to care for immediate family. Part 5 concerns collective bargaining and collective agreements. Part 6 amends the Industrial Relations Act of 1988 in respect to secondary boycotts, boycotting agreements and the powers of the Commission in relation to boycott disputes. Part 7 governs the Industrial Relations Court of Australia and Part 8 provides for miscellaneous amendments. Schedules 1 to 4 contains consequential amendments to the Industrial Relations Act of 1988, the Trade Practices Act of 1974 and other Acts.
