| Abstract/Citation: | This Act creates a Board and an Office for the Rehabilitation of the Handicapped and specifies the composition and duties of each. It authorizes the registration of handicapped persons and enumerates the services that such registration will offer them. It also establishes a Fund for the Rehabilitation of Handicapped Persons. It authorizes Regulations that will require employers to hire handicapped persons in "an appropriate proportion to other employees" and allows employers who choose not to do so the alternative of payment into the Fund of an amount to be prescribed by the Regulations. |
