The purpose of this Convention is to coordinate social security legislation within the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States; it is comprised of 61 articles and divided into 5 Parts. Part I provides definitions, and sets out the scope of the Convention. Part II establishes what country's legislation shall be applicable to an employee in specified circumstances, such as work abroad. Part III contains detailed provisions concerning the various categories of benefits. Parts IV and V contain miscellaneous, transitional and final provisions. Attached to the Convention is an Administrative Agreement among the member states for the application of the Convention.
