Abstract/Citation: The Apprenticeship and Industry Training Act and its various regulations and board orders, provide the framework for Alberta’s apprenticeship and industry training system. It outlines the requirements to be able to work in designated trades as well as provides for the maintenance of standards, compliance and appeals. The Act establishes the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board and describes its mandate and authority and provides for the creation of Local and Provincial Apprenticeship Committees for the designated trades that report to the Board. It gives the Board specific authority to make regulations and orders.
