Abstract/Citation: The Act sets out special measures to uphold and preserve the rule of law, public order, citizen security and public safety within certain geographical areas of Jamaica. The Government may declare an area a Zone of Special Operations if there are reasonable grounds to believe that there is "rampant criminality, gang warfare, escalating violence and murder and the threat to the rule of law and public order."
