La referida ley establece el Código de Familia. El código se estructura de la siguiente manera:
- TÍTULO PRELIMINAR
- LIBRO PRIMERO: De la familia
- LIBRO SEGUNDO: De la filiación
- LIBRO TERCERO: De la autoridad parental o relación madre, padre, hijos e hijas
- LIBRO CUARTO: Asistencia familiar y tutela
- LIBRO QUINTO: De las personas adultas mayores
- LIBRO SEXTO: Proceso de familia
