8.6 Joint OSH Committee

• 8.6.1 Participation of workers’ representatives in joint OSH committee

  Summary / Citation: The law provides that the number of employer's representatives and workers' representatives elected by workers in the OSH Committee shall be the same. At least one of the workers' representatives within the OSH Committee must belong to the most representative Staff Union in the company.
  The nomination of workers' representatives belonging to the Staff Union will be done through a communication to the employer (§ 15).

  The election of workers' representatives will be celebrate through a meeting of all workers at the workplace. Such meeting must be announced at least eight days in advance. The representatives will be elected by majority of votes (§ 16).
