• 2.6.1 List of occupational diseases

  Summary/citation: Occupational illnesses are considered to be those that occur as a result of:
  a) lead poisoning, including poisoning by lead alloys or compounds, and the direct consequences of such poisoning;
  b) poisoning by mercury or mercury amalgams or compounds and the direct consequences of such poisoning;
  c) poisoning by pesticides, herbicides, colorants and noxious solvents;
  d) poisoning caused by industrial dust, gases and vapours, which are taken to include gases from internal combustion of refrigeration machines;
  e) exposure to asbestos dust and asbestos fibre in the air or dust from products containing asbestos;
  f) poisoning caused by x-rays or radioactive substances;
  g) carbuncular infections; and,

  Summary / Citation: In companies with over 100 employees and those whose activities are strenuous, unhealthy and involve a high degree of danger, it is mandatory to provide a specific service, in-house or contracted, ensure availability of first-aid in case of work accident, sudden illness, poisoning or illness.

  Nerby the industrial workplaces must exist a first-aid kit.

  Next to any construction site, there must be a first-aid station. When any construction works are performed a first aid-kit must be made available.

  In the mining activity a first-aid service must be made available. In case of more than 50 employees, the service must have facilities, equipment and materials specified in the law, as well as, first responders. In case there are more than 100 workers, there also should be an ambulance available.

• 9.2.1 Handling, storage, labelling and use

  Summary / Citation: In industrial undertakings, rules are provided for storing and transporting flammable liquids and solids, compressed gases, the conformity of pipes and plumbing. The principle of substitution of hazardous substances by less dangerous or harmless is established, as well as the prevention rules to be adopted.

  In mining undertakings, it is mandatory to evaluate and control the effects of chemical agents and appropriate measures must be taken not to exceed the occupational limit values in the workplace.

9.8 Provisions to protect workers in specific condition of vulnerability

11.4 Application of sanctions by courts
