Summary / Citation: The law provides some specifities concerning the qualification of labour doctors:
a) specialization in labour medicine or preventive medicine and psychotechnics;
b) teaching in labour medicine or preventive medicine for workers and, psychotechnics or industrial toxicology or industrial hygiene, physiology and hygiene in the workplace or workplace clinics;
c) authorization referred at the Article 55 of the Legislative Decree of 15 August 1991 no. 277 ;
d) specialization in hygiene and preventive medicine or legal medicine;
d-bis) only with respect to the role of the health of the Armed Forces, including the Police, the State Police and the Guardia di Finanza, at least 4 years of experience in OSH matters at the workplace.
Art. 98 Decree n. 81/2008 contains the qualifications required by law for OSH practitioners:
- Master's Degree in one of the following classes: LM-4, da LM-20 a LM-35, LM- 69, LM-73, LM-74 as stipulated in the Decree of the Ministry of University of 15 March 2007.
- Master's Degree in one of the following classes: 4/S, da 25/S a 38/S, 77/S, 74/S, 86/S, as stipulated in the Decree of the Ministry of University of 28 November 2000.
- Master's Degree as stipulated in the Decree of the Ministry of Instruction of 5 May 2004.
- Degree in one of the following classes: L7, L8, L9, L17, L23, as stipulated in the Decree of 16 March 2007.
- Certificate in surveying or industrial expert or master in agriculture or agro-technicians and a declaration on the part of employers or clients, proving the performance of work in the construction industry for at least three years.
