1 Description of national OSH regulatory framework
- 1.1 Description of OSH regulatory framework
  Summary/citation: The Constitution of Honduras enshrined OSH issues in the article 128(6), which imposed upon each employer a duty to comply with and enforce at the premises of their establishments the OSH laws and regulations, taking appropriate security measures to prevent occupational hazards and ensure the physical and mental health of workers.
  
  The Labour Code, reformed in 2003, is the primary legal source for occupational safety and health law under the Title V. Also the Health Code in the Title III Book II provides norms about occupational health and requires the constitution of the National Committee on Occupational Health. Finally, the Social Insurance Law contains provisions which grants the benefits related to all occupational accidents and diseases.
  
  The leading OSH legislation is the General Regulation on Occupational Accidents and Diseases Prevention Measures, of 2004, which aims to provide safety and health conditions in which the work must be carry out at the workplace, without prejudice to the regulations that are enacted in each particular activity.
