Summary / Citation: The minimum age for access to the labour market is 16 years (Art. 5).
Night work (10.00 pm- 05.00 am) is prohibited to young people below the age of 16 years. Exemptions may be granted by decree upon the advice of the National Council on Labour, Employment and Vocational Training (Art. 94).
Young people are forbidden to work in the following sectors:
- domestic work;
- hotels and bars, with the exception of jobs strictly related to restoration (Art. 110).
A degree may be approved upon the proposal of the Minister of Labour and the Minister of Health, and after obtaining the advice of the National Council on Labour, Employment and Vocational Training, determining the nature of work and categories of enterprises prohibited for young people (Art. 111).
Remarks / comments: The law specifies that "young people" refers to people from 16 to 18 years of age (Art. 108).
