  ACUTE HAZARDS PREVENTION FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE & EXPLOSION Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.  Above 62°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.  NO open flames. NO contact with oxidizing agents.  Above 62°C use a closed system and ventilation.  Use water spray, powder, foam, carbon dioxide.  In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water. Combat fire from a sheltered position.

  SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID
Inhalation Abdominal pain. Blue lips, fingernails and skin. Confusion. Convulsions. Dizziness. Headache. Laboured breathing. Nausea. Unconsciousness. Vomiting. Ringing in the ears. Visual disturbances.  Use ventilation, local exhaust or breathing protection.  Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
Skin MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness.  Protective gloves. Protective clothing.  Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
Eyes Redness. Pain.  Wear face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.  First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention.
Ingestion See Inhalation.  Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.  Rinse mouth. Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Rest. Refer for medical attention .

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL CLASSIFICATION & LABELLING
Personal protection: chemical protection suit. Personal protection: filter respirator for organic gases and vapours adapted to the airborne concentration of the substance. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable metal or glass containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent. Then store and dispose of according to local regulations.

EXPOSURE & HEALTH EFFECTS

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

Effects of short-term exposure
If this liquid is swallowed, aspiration into the lungs may result in chemical pneumonitis. The substance may cause effects on the blood. This may result in the formation of methaemoglobin. Exposure far above the OEL could cause lowering of consciousness. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.

Inhalation risk
A harmful contamination of the air will be reached rather slowly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

Effects of long-term or repeated exposure
Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS
TLV: 5 ppm as TWA; 10 ppm as STEL; (skin); A4 (not classifiable as a human carcinogen); BEI issued.
MAK: 25 mg/m3, 5 ppm; peak limitation category: II(2); skin absorption (H); carcinogen category: 3; pregnancy risk group: D

ENVIRONMENT
The substance is harmful to aquatic organisms.

NOTES
Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is suggested.
Specific treatment is necessary in case of poisoning with this substance; the appropriate means with instructions must be available.
