  ACUTE HAZARDS PREVENTION FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE & EXPLOSION Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.    NO open flames. See Chemical Dangers.    Use water spray, powder, foam, carbon dioxide.

AVOID ALL CONTACT! IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
  SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID
Inhalation Cough. Sore throat. Laboured breathing. Shortness of breath. Symptoms may be delayed. See Notes.  Use ventilation, local exhaust or breathing protection.  Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Refer immediately for medical attention.
Skin Redness. Pain. Serious skin burns.  Protective gloves. Protective clothing.  Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower for at least 15 minutes. Refer immediately for medical attention.
Eyes Redness. Pain. Severe burns.  Wear face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.  First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention.
Ingestion Burns in mouth and throat. Burning sensation behind the breastbone. Abdominal pain. Shock or collapse.  Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.  Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Give nothing to drink. Refer immediately for medical attention.

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL CLASSIFICATION & LABELLING
Personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent. Then store and dispose of according to local regulations.

EXPOSURE & HEALTH EFFECTS

Routes of exposure
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, by ingestion and through the skin.

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance is corrosive to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Inhalation may cause lung oedema. See Notes. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.

Inhalation risk
No indication can be given about the rate at which a harmful concentration of this substance in the air is reached.

Effects of long-term or repeated exposure
This substance is probably carcinogenic to humans. May cause heritable genetic damage to human germ cells.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS
MAK: skin absorption (H); carcinogen category: 2; germ cell mutagen group: 2

ENVIRONMENT
The substance is harmful to aquatic organisms.

NOTES
The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential.
