Circular of 19 July 1982 from the French Ministry of Labour (not published in the French official gazette), laying down: the exposure limit value that should not be exceeded; the mean time-weighted threshold level to which workers may be exposed for an 8h work shift. An appendix contains a list of 37 substances and the relevant exposure limit values and mean time-weighted permissible threshold levels. These values have no statutory power. However, if their non-observance produces a dangerous situation, the labour inspector is required to submit to the departmental director of labour a proposal that proceedings be instituted in accordance with the French Labour Code.
