This decree, based on the law of 23 Dec. 1982 which concerned health, safety and working conditions committees (CIS 83-1490), makes several relevant provisions: composition of the worker delegation, given the number of employees on each committee; duration of the mandate of the members of the committee; list of other participants in committee meetings (the occupational physician and the chief safety and working conditions officer or the person with those responsibilities should attend committee meetings on a consultative basis).

CIS 83-888 Act No.82-915 of 28 Oct. 1982 relative to development of representative workers' associations
Loi n°82-915 du 28 octobre 1982 relative au développement des institutions représentatives du personnel [en francés]
This Act amends some 100 articles of the French labour code and adds some 20 others. It deals especially with trade union delegates, workers' representatives, works committees and group committees. The works committee should be informed and consulted on general problems concerning hours of work, employment and working conditions, introduction of new technologies; it may commission the safety and health committee to undertake specific investigations.
