CIS 93-717 Decree No.275/91 of 7 July 1991, regulating particular measures of prevention and of the protection of the health of workers against the risks of exposure to certain chemical substances [Portugal]
Regulamenta as medidas especiais de prevenção e protecção da saúde dos trabalhadores contra os riscos de exposição a algumas substâncias químicas [in Portuguese]
This Decree is issued in accordance with provisions of Decree 479/85 concerning carcinogens (see CIS 87-735). It also implements in Portuguese legislation Directive 88/364/EEC (see CIS 90-1423) concerning the protection of workers through the prohibition of certain specific agents and activities. The Decree prohibits, except for specific derogations, the production and use of the following carcinogens: 2-naphthylamine and its salts; 4-aminobiphenyl and its salts; benzidine and its salts; 4-nitrobiphenyl. Even in cases of derogation, protective measures are obligatory, and previous authorisation by the competent authority is needed. Potentially exposed workers must be informed of the hazards they face.

CIS 96-1935 Decree-Law of 9 Feb. 1990 on the limitation of use of certain dangerous substances and preparations [Portugal]
Decreto-Lei...[que] tem por objectivo limitar o uso, nos produtos ou artigos definidos no artigo subsequente, das ... substâncias ou preparações perigosas [in Portuguese]
This Decree (effective 10 May 1990) prohibits the manufacturing and sale of certain dangerous chemicals for specific kinds of use. These are: liquid substances or products considered as dangerous, for use in decorative light-producing or colouring agents; vinyl chloride in aerosols; tris(2,3-dibromopropyl) phosphate, triaziridinylphosphine oxide and polybrominated biphenyls in textiles that might be in contact with skin; benzene exceeding 5mg/kg in toys and their accessories; the following entertainment products (in quantities > 1.5mL) normally used during the carnival season: Panama powder (Quillaja saponaria); rice powder (Helleborus viridis, H. niger, Veratrum album, V. nigrum); benzidine; o-nitrobenzene aldehyde; wood dust; ammonium sulfides; methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl bromoacetates.

Proibição da comercialização e da utilização de produtos contendo fibras de amianto [in Portuguese]
Modification of Decree No.28/87 (see CIS 87-744), bringing it into line with Directive 85/610/EEC (see CIS 86-622) concerning asbestos. It reaffirms the prohibition of the use of crocidolite (with certain exceptions), and it prohibits the sale and use of the following types of products when they contain asbestos fibres: toys; sprays; products sold in powder form; products for smokers; insulating materials used in liquefied-gas heating equipment; inks and varnishes.

Portaria n°186/73 do 13 de Março: Regulamentação do trabalho feminino [in Portuguese]
These regulations, which entered into force on 1 June 1973, prohibit the employment of women in work where the following toxic substances are frequently used or handled: mercury and its organic and inorganic compounds; thiophosphates; carbon disulfide; benzene and its homologues; nitrated and nitrochlorinated derivatives of aromatic hydrocarbons; dinitrophenol; aniline, benzidine and naphthylamines and their homologues. They also prohibit the employment of women underground in mines, in compressed-air work, in work involving exposure to ionising radiation, or in the regular or occasional carrying of loads exceeding certain fixed weights.
