Fire protection program for operating nuclear power plants.
Amended text, dated 17 Nov. 1980, of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations laying down fire protection requirements for nuclear power plants. Provisions concerning: water supplies for fire suppresion systems; section control valves; hydrants; hydrostatic testing of hoses; shutdown capability; fire barriers. Appendix: fire protection programme for nuclear power facilities already in operation prior to 1 Jan. 1979: fire hazard analysis; fire prevention features; automatic fire detection; fire protection of safe shutdown capability; fire brigade; fire brigade training; fire barriers and fire doors; oil collection system for reactor coolant pump (unless containment is inerted during normal operation).
