| Resumen |
Comparative study of the labour inspection systems in effect in the following countries of Eastern and Central Europe in 1987: Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, the German Democratic Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and the USSR. In four of the seven countries surveyed, exclusively state inspection services operated; in 2 countries state and trade union inspection services operated simultaneously; and in one country all labour inspection powers, except those concerning occupational health, were allocated to trade unions. The report provides an historical brief on the adoption of labour inspection systems, and discusses the general concept of supervision within the labour protection system, the role and organisation of the labour inspection system, inspection powers, staff and training and the social labour inspection system. |
