| Resumen |
The main part of this publication consists of a print-out of information from the IRPTC computer concerning treatment and disposal methods for about 560 chemical substances, to provide for the maximum protection of workers and the environment. In addition to the method described, entries include, where appropriate, methods qualified by IRPTC experts as recommended, recommendable and not recommendable. Also given are conclusions of an IRPTC expert consultation, primary and secondary references and data extracted from these references. Access to the information is provided by indices ordered by chemical name, RTECS number and CAS registry number. There is a discussion of the important factors to be considered for 6 waste disposal methods: landfill, thermal destruction, physical or chemical treatment, evaporation, discharge to sewers leading to sewage treatment works and long-term storage. There is also discussion of the limitations of the file, qualifiers attributed to disposal methods and alternatives to disposal (recycling and re-use, storage, export). |
