Título Sister chromatid exchange frequency in asbestos workers
Información bibliográfica Jan. 1983, Vol.70, No.1, p.45-48. 28 ref.
Resumen A comparative study of 25 asbestos insulators (6 with radiographic asbestosis) and 14 age-matched controls showed the insulators to have a marginally increased sister chromatid exchange (SCE) rate in circulating lymphocytes with increasing years of exposure. There was a significant association between SCE rate and smoking after controlling for years of asbestos exposure and age. Smoking asbestos workers had the highest SCE rate. SCE in group A chromosomes, i.e. the group with the longest chromosomes, were significantly associated with asbestos exposure and cigarette smoking, with an interaction being apparent between the 2 factors.
