Título Risk assessment in the welding industry: Part 1 - Introduction to risk assessment
Información bibliográfica Svejsecentralen (Danish Welding Institute), 2600 Glostrup, Denmark, 1981. 32p. 164 ref.
Resumen The concept of risk assessment and the difficulties inherent in quantitative assessment of the health risks suffered by welders are discussed in the context of existing studies and literature. Some epidemiologic studies have shown an excess risk of lung cancer for welders. The carcinogenic potential of nickel and hexavalent chromium in fumes from stainless steel welding processes, and the implications of positive results of short-term in-vitro screening tests on this class of fumes, are discussed.
