| Resumen |
Review of the possibilities and principles of microclimate evaluation and introduction to a study of their practical application in a printing and drying shop for sheet metal for tinned food and drink cans, where several drying ovens were in operation. Specification of effective temperatures, microclimate values admitted as comfortable, and permissible limits. Description of microclimate evaluation procedure: measurements of thermal environment values, determination of body workload, establishment of climatic limits for the range of jobs to be performed in the metal printing shop. Values in excess of tolerable limits were frequently recorded in summer, but without apparent health injury. Proposed preventive measures: forced ventilation, insulating screens, new ultra-violet drying methods, workbreaks taken in cooler premises. |
