This report gives statistics concerning the activity of the Inspectorate, and communications on the following themes: a new epoch in the prevention of occupational hazards - commentary on the new Workplace Environment Act (effective 1 July 1978) (Danielson G.); 25 new directives issued by the Labour Inspectorate (Westlin A.); harmful effects of organic solvents, cobalt etc., and toxicological research (Lundgren N.); a typical working week for the labour inspector (Westergren P.O.); a new data processing system for occupational accident and disease data (Lagerlöf E.); welding and brazing fumes - their composition and harmful effects (Ulfvarson U.); safety campaign publicity leaflets and literature giving information on safety rules (Holmström I.); the occupational medical research section at Umeå (Jonsson B.). Appended: list of directives and reports published in 1978; statistical tables; organigrams. |
