Información bibliográfica 1978, Vol.22, No.3, p.260-268. Illus. 26 ref.
Resumen For male and female rats the per os LD50 was >16,000mg/kg; the i.p. LD50 was 1140 (1085-1200) and 1100 (1040-1160)mg/kg; the dermal LD50 >10,000mg/kg; the inhalation LD50 was >10,000mg/m3; the cumulation coefficient was >5.0. For male and female rabbits the acute eye irritation index was 7.7, 1.2, 0.0; acute skin irritation index was 0.1. The skin sensitisation test was negative in male and female guinea pigs. Fundazol can be considered practically harmless to workers and need not carry the statutory label for toxic substances. In the case of oral administration, the gastric ulcer in CFY rats might be due to a metabolite, n-butyl isocyanate, and the testis impairment might be due to another metabolite, methylbenzimidazole carbamate. For workers, these changes can be neglected, but they must be taken into consideration for accidental or intentional ingestion.
