| Resumen |
During assembly and maintenance work on electrical installations, the safety of personnel requires switchgear installations to be provided with earthing facilities at appropriate locations. In metal-clad, high-voltage installations (complex enclosed units insulated by means of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6)), earthing rods cannot be used at arbitrary points on the conductor, so that earthing switches must be permanently installed. After an enumeration of the criteria for earthing switches, a range of earthing switches for this type of switchgear is presented, and it is shown that the required conditions are satisfied. |
