| Resumen |
Important aspects of the hazards of electric currents (protective measures, types of network) are briefly reviewed. Assessment of protective measures by statistical correlation analysis of accident reports, and by reliability analysis of the measures themselves, is presented. The statistical approach comprises 3 stages: analysis of safety measures, analysis of accident reports, statistical evaluation of accident data. Statistics from Bavaria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, obtained with networks with combined or separate mid-point and neutral conductors, and with connection to neutral and earthing, are compared. The correlation procedure applied is suitable for assessment of measures employing a conductor for indirect-contact protection. Reliability analysis of protective measures employs the fault-tree method to determine the causes of undesirable system conditions and the probability of their occurrence. This method permits differentiated evaluation of the individual systems. |
