| Resumen |
After an introductory section on cardiac function, the excitation phase and ventricular fibrillation, the author refers to animal experiments and accident investigations in a study of the minimum duration of exposure to an electric current, the fibrillation threshold, and the current intensity ranges. Conclusions relating to the hazard ranges and the efficacy of high-sensitivity differential circuit breakers. In extreme conditions (brief duration of exposure in the critical T-wave phase, resistance of the fault circuit less than 500Ω), the differential circuit breaker cannot prevent a fatal outcome. Differential circuit breakers should therefore not be used without a protective conductor. |
