Abstract This training programme is designed for occupational physicians confronted with the issue of exposure to carcinogens in the workplace. It consists of twelve modules, each representing half-a-day, one-day or two-day training sessions: resources available within the company; setting priorities; small enterprises; epidemiological methods and occupational practice within the company; risk assessment; risk communication within the enterprise; risk communication with concerned persons; health surveillance and screening; state of the art in technology and occupational medicine; cooperation within the enterprise; dealing with conflicts; quality circles for improving the quality of intervention.
