Title An evaluation of industrial ventilation branch screening methods for obstructions in working exhaust systems
Bibliographic information July-Aug. 2001, Vol.62, No.4, p.401-410. Illus. 23 ref.
Abstract Methods in identifying obstructed branches in industrial ventilation systems are divided into two categories: pressure comparisons and pressure ratio comparisons. The first compares measured static pressures with the corresponding design static pressures or previously measured pressures. The second compares the ratios of two measured pressures. Data were collected from 6 industrial ventilation systems. Each one was tested for naturally occurring or deliberately inserted obstructions. The pressure ratio method was substantially superior for the detection of obstructions.
