Abstract Conclusions of this criteria document: dimethyformamide is slightly irritant and corrosive to the eyes and skin. Occupational exposure results from dermal absorption and inhalation. The primary target is the liver, giving rise to digestive disorders and changes in hepatic enzymes. Data on carcinogenicity and genotoxicity are not convincing; available data are insufficient for the assessment of neurological and immunological effects.
