Abstract This guidance document aimed at national regulatory agencies addresses training in radiation protection and safety aspects related to nuclear technologies. In particular, it covers the aspects of the categories of persons to be trained, the requirements for education, training and experience for each category, the process of qualification and authorization of responsible persons and proposed national strategies to be implemented for building these competencies.
