Abstract This guide is aimed at all persons working in food preparation and service organizations such as hotels, restaurants, catering facilities and fast food establishments. It replaces an earlier edition analysed under CIS 01-1010. Its objective is to enable persons working in restaurants and related establishments to recognize workplace hazards, prevent accidents and injuries by safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment, deal with accidents and emergencies and understand their duties and rights under occupational safety and health legislation. A list of addresses of government departments that can be contacted for additional information is also included. Document also available in French at CCOHS.
