Abstract This guide is a revised edition of an earlier document analysed under CIS 01-1009. It is aimed at workers, supervisors, teachers, principals, school board officials, and safety and health committee members in schools and other educational establishments. Its objectives are to enable persons working in schools and other educational establishments to recognize workplace hazards, prevent accident and injury by safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment, deal with accidents and emergencies and understand their duties and rights under occupational safety and health legislation. A list of addresses of government departments that can be contacted for additional information is also included. Document also available in French at CCOHS.
