Abstract The objective of this study was to propose revisions to the current standard for testing the resistance of tractor power take-off shaft guards, taking into account the effect of UV radiation, dust and salt on the plastic material from which the guard is made, as well as new guard designs. Several recommendations are made, which are to be discussed in a working group prior to submitting them as possible revisions to the current ISO 5674 standard.
