Title Fatal injuries in farming, forestry and horticulture - 1999-2000

Abstract This is a report on the 44 reportable fatal injuries occurring in the agricultural sector (comprising farming, forestry and horticulture and associated industries) in Great Britain from April 1999 to March 2000. Statistical data are given by region, by main activity in the agricultural sector and by accident cause. Short descriptions of each fatal accident are provided. An analysis of the trend of fatal and non fatal injuries for the period 1986/87 to 1998/99 and case studies showing what went wrong and how the accident could have been avoided are presented.
