Abstract This information sheet provides guidance on the health and safety file required under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 (CDM Regulations, see CIS 95-13). CDM Regulations are aimed at improving the overall management and coordination of health, safety and welfare through all stages of a construction project. The health and safety file is a record on the key risks that could arise in subsequent maintenance, repair and construction work. Contents include: preparing the health and safety file (what information is required, and how it needs to be collected, presented and stored); contents of the health and safety file; future use of the health and safety file.
