| Abstract |
The causes, clinical features and management of occupational asthma are reviewed. Common causative agents are listed and pathological changes resulting in airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness are outlined. Clinical features, epidemiological aspects, diagnosis, management of the disease and impairment assessment are discussed. Primary prevention measures include elimination of the agent from the workplace, reduction of exposure, and exclusion of susceptible individuals. |
