Title Influence of local vibration on finger functions of forest workers
Bibliographic information July 1997, Vol.35, No.3, p.337-342. 15 ref.
Abstract Finger functions were investigated in 92 male forest workers. Subjects were classified into one of two groups: group A showed normal results or a slight disorder, group B showed disorder or illness. Working hours per day and hours using a chain saw were lower in group A than group B. Mean hand grip strength and finger skin temperatures were higher in group A. Mean values of vibration sensation and reaction times in the nail pressure test were lower in group A. Differences in right and left hand finger functions are discussed along with age effects.
Descriptors (primary) forestry; chain saws; hand-arm vibration
