Abstract In this publication the EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) presents for the first time a comprehensive assessment of state pollution prevention activities funded by its grant programme. The effectiveness of specific activities is not evaluated; instead, EPA seeks to narrate activities as reported by the grantees.
