| Abstract |
Gaseous pyrolysis products of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) have been investigated with and without the addition of ferrocene. Even at the concentration of 1%, this metallocene was able to prevent the production of benzene and of other toxic compounds such as toluene, naphthalene and biphenyl. Ferrocene therefore may prove useful in the thermal destruction of PVC residues in incinerators. |
