Title Some design principles of horizontal fall protection systems
Bibliographic information June 1997, Vol.15, No.6, p.17-21. Illus.
Abstract Basic requirements of fall protection systems are outlined and the horizontal life line system is described. The system provides a continuous attachment for a safety harness in an operator's place of work. Design considerations discussed include: maximum arrest force; ergonomic factors; provision of anchorages to attach the system to the structure where it is needed; stretching cables and energy dissipation; and system testing.
