| Abstract |
An epidemiologic study based on information obtained from 707 clinical histories of seafarers from Valencia, Spain, was conducted in order to investigate tobacco and alcohol consumption and its relationship to health conditions in this population of workers. It was found that tobacco and alcohol consumption was higher than in the population of both the Community of Valencia and Spain and this habit plays an important role in the development of pathologies.
