Abstract Occupational sources of carbon monoxide are identified (exhausts from automobiles, forklifts and other industrial equipment and combustion devices), along with occupations at risk, effects on humans, symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, and emergency treatment. Precautions include avoiding the use of fuel-burning equipment indoors, controlling exposure through equipment maintenance and ventilation, and ensuring carbon monoxide monitors are installed and working properly.
