Title Effects of 10-ppm hydrogen sulfide inhalation on pulmonary function in healthy men and women
Bibliographic information Oct. 1996, Vol.38, No.10, p.1012-1017. 20 ref.
Abstract A group of 9 men and 10 women inhaled medical air or 10ppm hydrogen sulfide for 15min during cycle exercise at 50% of their maximal aerobic power. Routine pulmonary function tests were administered at rest and immediately after the two exposure conditions. No significant changes in pulmonary function variables were observed and none of the subjects experienced any signs or symptoms as a result of hydrogen sulfide exposure. Oral inhalation of 10ppm hydrogen sulfide at an elevated metabolic and ventilation rate does not significantly alter pulmonary function in healthy men and women.
