Title Horn playing and blood pressure
Bibliographic information 12 Oct. 1996, Vol.348, No.9033, p.1042. 2 ref.
Abstract The blood pressure of 37 horn players was measured both at rest and while playing a scale. There was no correlation between the frequency of the notes played and blood pressure. While this study does not address the long-term effects of horn-playing or the effect of performance stress on blood pressure, it does offer reassurance that, for most individuals, blood pressures do not rise while simply playing.
