Abstract Contents of this occupational data sheet devoted to chambermaids in hotels: definition; characteristics of the occupation; description of activities: normal work areas, tools, equipment, machinery, working methods, hand movements and postures; risks and stresses of the job (connected with the environment, the equipment, the products used, the working hours, the physical and mental workload); occupational diseases (including, theoretically, infectious diseases) and accidents; prevention of hazards (collective, personal, OSH measures); regulations applicable in France; particular health conditions to watch. Final remarks: this kind of work must be properly organized, job tasks must be delimited, room layout and cleaning equipment must be ergonomically designed and personnel must be properly trained.
