Abstract Data sheet. May enter the body by inhalation and through the skin. It is a carcinogen and should be handled with extreme care. Irritates and burns the eyes and skin, leading to permanent damage. May cause skin and lung allergy. Irritates the respiratory tract and may cause lung oedema. Formaldehyde is a highly flammable gas.
