Abstract These Approved Requirements have been approved for the purposes of regulations 5,6 and 8 of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods (Classification, Packaging and Labelling) and Use of Transportable Pressure Receptacles Regulations 1996. They replace the Approved Methods for the Classification and Packaging of Dangerous Goods for Carriage by Road and Rail (see CIS 94-2041). The principal changes relate to: new test methods for oxidizing substances; classifying self-reactive substances and organic peroxides; packaging methods for peroxides; classification and packaging criteria for environmentally hazardous substances not otherwise dangerous for carriage; and test methods for determining the chemical compatibility of plastics packaging using standard liquids.
